URANTIA READERS INTERNATIONAL
QUARTERLY REPORT   --
October November December – 2010

The ensuing report will attempt to address several topical issues confronting society today as well
as to present relevant teachings from a Melchizedek Son residing in Nebadon. In our last report
the final 8 paragraphs were quoted from paper 99 in the Urantia book, possibly from the same
Melchizedek Son and listed on the first page of our site for reference. The parts in quotes within
this section are all from a Melchizedek. Melchizedek Sons, considered a high order of local
universe origin personality, are a self governing order, have never gone astray, and represent
the highest organized teaching source for mortals in our universe – the schools they maintain are
unparalled in our area of creation. We should consider ourselves quite fortunate in having their
teachings presented to us throughout the Urantia book.

THE REAL NATURE OF RELIGION    (Presented by a Melchizedek)

“Religion as a human experience ranges from the primitive fear slavery of the evolving savage up
to the sublime and magnificent faith liberty of those civilized mortals who are superbly conscious
of sonship with the eternal God.” (1104)

“Religionists must function in society, in industry, and in politics as individuals, not as groups,
parties, or institutions. A religious group which presumes to function as such, apart from religious
activities, immediately becomes a political party, an economic organization, or a social institution.
Religious collectivism must confine its efforts to the furtherance of religious causes.” (1087) (Can
Islam therefore be classified as a political party as well as an arcane religious philosophy?)

“True religion is not a system of philosophic belief which can be reasoned out and substantiated
by natural proofs, neither is it a fantastic and mystic experience of indescribable feelings of
ecstasy which can be enjoyed only by the romantic devotees of mysticism. Religion is not the
product of reason, but viewed from within, it is altogether reasonable. Religion is not derived from
the logic of human philosophy, but as a mortal experience it is altogether logical. RELIGION IS
THE EXPERIENCING OF DIVINITY IN THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF A MORAL BEING OF
EVOLUTIONARY ORIGIN; IT REPRESENTS TRUE EXPERIENCE WITH ETERNAL REALITIES IN
TIME, THE REALIZATION OF SPIRITUAL SATISFACTIONS WHILE YET IN THE FLESH.  (1104)”

“Religion lives and prospers, not by sight and feeling, but rather by faith and insight. It consists
not in the discovery of new facts or in the finding of a unique experience, but rather in the
discovery of new and spiritual meanings in facts already well known to mankind. The highest
religious experience is not dependent on prior acts of belief, tradition, and authority; neither is
religion the offspring of sublime feelings and purely mystical emotions. It is, rather, A
PROFOUNDLY DEEP AND ACTUAL EXPERIENCE OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION WITH THE
SPIRIT INFLUENCES RESIDENT WITHIN THE HUMAN MIND, AND AS FAR AS SUCH AN
EXPERIENCE IS DEFINABLE IN TERMS OF PSYCHOLOGY, IT IS SIMPLY THE EXPERIENCE OF
EXPERIENCING THE REALITY OF BELIEVING IN GOD AS THE REALITY OF SUCH A PURELY
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.” (1105)
“While religion is not the product of the rationalistic speculations of a material cosmology, it is,
nonetheless, the creation of a wholly rational insight which originates in man’s mind-experience.
Religion is born neither of mystic meditations nor of isolated contemplations, albeit it is ever more
or less mysterious and always indefinable and inexplicable in terms of purely intellectual reason
and philosophic logic. The germs of true religion originate in the domain of man’s moral
consciousness, and they are revealed in the growth of man’s spiritual insight, that faculty of
human personality which accrues as a consequence of the presence of the God-revealing
Thought Adjuster in the God-hungry mortal mind.”

From the definitions in bold print above we readily discern that religion comes from within as a
“COMMUNION WITH THE SPIRIT INFLUENCES RESIDENT WITHIN THE HUMAN MIND”, “AND THE
EXPERINCING OF DIVINITY IN THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF A MORAL BEING OF EVOLUTIONARY
ORIGIN”.
IT THEREFORE DOES NOT STEM FROM “THE PRIOR ACTS OF BELIEF, TRADITION, AND
AUTHORITY; AND NEITHER IS RELIGION THE OFFSPRING OF SUBLIME FEELINGS AND
PURELY MYSTICAL EMOTIONS”. In other words an ecclesiastical authority comprising the
magnitude of religious clerics abounding today, (often a pompous and self adoring set of spiritual
know-it-alls) while it might be good for the spiritual interaction with one’s fellows each week-end, it
has little to do with the advancement of ones communion within – ones true inner contact with the
divine source of all reality.

In today’s world Christians and others are confronted with a basically consolidated religious group
that choose to call themselves messengers from God and have come to function as pushy, rather
obnoxious groups, and certainly not as individuals, but rather, as stated above: as parties,
institutions and collective organizations and far more politically active in world communities than
their involvement religiously. This vast coterie comprises a religious sect of Muslims bent on
controlling the entire world within the next 100 years. This report will take aim specifically at these
fraudulent religionists as they attempt to displace Judaism and Christianity by forcefully replacing
the western cultures with a backward, outdated vintage of a religious culture that has little appeal
to the more religiously advanced civilizations of the world. Muslims have attempted to convince
Westerners that they merely want to share the neighborhood when in reality they want to take
over the neighborhood.

Islam brings with the religion a complete set of its own laws, laws designed to govern any and all
social structures – laws that are immutable, unforgiving, and all of which are ordained by Allah,
and firmly based on an eye for an eye; a philosophy – completely antithetical to the God of
Christianity – a forgiving and loving God that allows for mistakes as would any loving mortal
father. And far from being separate from the state, to the contrary, Muslims seize at the
opportunity to control and dominate the state, wherever and whenever they obtain a foothold.
Since there is no separation from any society wherein they have seized control -- they ever seek
to rigidly govern with strict adherence to a moral code that is disturbing to anyone but a small
child possessing an infant mentality; and I might also add that there is no escape – Allah wants
any miscreant punished for the slightest infraction of social rules – a punishment that includes the
removal of limbs, blindness (removal of eyes) and even death. Muhammad himself devised
burying women alive with their scarf if found guilty of infidelity to their spouse – and of course this
on the say-so of the rejected spouse.

Unlike the Islamic God of retribution who demands a portion of one’s body – an arm or leg or
head for defying sacred edicts, and then relegates one to a fiery hell, minus the offending body
parts; the Christian God merely banishes one from the 2nd act – the next stage of eternity, and
this due to a life of recalcitrance by crossing the borders of evil onto the eternal path of iniquity
(the deliberate denial of the reality of God and the failure to accept ones divine destiny, and one
who has over-ruled his conscience until he is no longer troubled by it {life-long sociopath}). The
Ancients of Days are entrusted with the decision as to who enters eternity (who is resurrected).
They are omniscient as is their Creator, having the ability to search the core of one’s being and
resolutely determine who inherently has the capacity for survival. Under the circumstances, one is
simply not reawakened as a dependable partner to enjoy the next evolutional step in eternity. No
scourging, no flogging, no beheading, just eternal sleep, unaware of his reconstitution of free
ranging atoms and molecules now devoid of the arranged order comprising the body of a human
entity. One merely becomes as if he never was. The Islamic God, on the other hand, is a “get
even” God – retaliation being the order of the day. If an Imam dismisses a rule infraction -- OK,
but otherwise, like the Queen in “Alice”, it’s off with their heads.

Christianity, while not nearly as full of mandates and simplistic edicts having nothing to do with
real spiritual progress as does Islam, still experiences far too many outmoded traditions and
ceremonies that seem to bring a prosaic and mundane order to tradition bound sermons which all
too often puts a lot of us to sleep. Standing and reciting a hymn for a few minutes may have been
a way to keep the faithful from falling asleep in their pews, but has long since lost its appeal to the
youth of our country who are deeply engaged in reverie instead of reverence throughout a typical
sermon.

Some more quotes from our Melchizadek:

“THE REALIZATION OF RELIGION NEVER HAS BEEN, AND NEVER WILL BE, DEPENDENT ON
GREAT LEARNING OR CLEVER LOGIC. IT IS SPIRITUAL INSIGHT, AND THAT IS JUST THE
REASON WHY SOME OF THE WORLD’S GREATEST RELIGIOUS TEACHERS, EVEN THE
PROPHETS, HAVE SOMETIMES POSSESSED SO LITTLE OF THE WISDOM OF THE WORLD.
RELIGIOUS FAITH IS AVAILABLE ALIKE TO THE LEARNED AND THE UNLEARNED.” (1107)

“RELIGION MUST EVER BE ITS OWN CRITIC AND JUDGE; IT CAN NEVER BE OBSERVED,
MUCH LESS UNDERSTOOD, FROM THE OUTSIDE. YOUR ONLY ASSURANCE OF A PERSONAL
GOD CONSISTS IN YOUR OWN INSIGHT AS TO YOUR BELIEF IN, AND EXPERIENCE WITH,
THINGS SPIRITUAL. TO ALL OF YOUR FELLOWS WHO HAVE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE, NO
ARGUMENT ABOUT THE PERSONALITY OR REALITY OF GOD IS NECESSARY, WHILE TO ALL
OTHER MEN WHO ARE NOT THUS SURE OF GOD NO POSSIBLE ARGUMENT COULD EVER BE
TRULY CONVINCING.” (1107)

“THROUGH RELIGIOUS FAITH THE SOUL OF MAN REVEALS ITSELF AND DEMONSTRATES
THE POTENTIAL DIVINITY OF ITS EMERGING NATURE BY THE CHARACTERISTIC MANNER IN
WHICH IT INDUCES THE MORTAL PERSONALITY TO REACT TO CERTAIN TRYING
INTELLECTUAL AND TESTING SOCIAL SITUATUONS. GENUINE SPIRITUAL FAITH (TRUE
MORAL CONSCIOUNSESS) IS REVEALED IN THAT IT…:”
(twelve conditions listed on page 1108).

The audacious act of obstinacy precludes the desire of getting to know God; one has  to begin to
recognize spiritual realities in order to know God; albeit, it is this bold refusal to love God that
prevents his presence as a reality in one’s life. The more one knows God the more one wants to
eventually know more; it follows then that the desire becomes progressively insatiable throughout
eternity; it couldn’t be any other way. In our routine day to day existence we have to get to know
people before we learn to love them – not entirely so with God. God we must come to love before
we know much about him, and then we must allow the process to unfold, embracing the reality, as
ethereal as it might originally be, while the unfolding to reveal His spiritual nature becomes ever
enticing and above all never ending. GOD HAS PERSONALITY AND GOD HAS RESIDENCE – HE
IS CONTACTABLE.

Melchizedeks have their origin within the local universe and are of dual origin by indirect descent
from the Paradise Deities and are considered among the “Descending Orders”. Divine
Counselors are of Triune origin, created by all three Paradise Deities and are in the Paradise
classification as among the rulers of a superuniverse, being considered “Stationary Sons of the
Trinity”. Humans are of the Ascending Orders and are of dual origin.

When Divine Counselors speak for the Trinity; it is as if the Trinity was personally addressing you
when you read their presentations in the Urantia book. They are Trinity Origin Beings and part of
the ruling class of the universes they inhabit. The magnanimity of such beings cannot be under
estimated which is immediately recognized when one reads the Nature of God in paper two of the
“Book”. Divine counselors don’t just speak for the Trinity, they speak as the Trinity. They possess
complete authority to speak as if they were the Trinity. Here, on page 32 is something of intrigue
that one will not find in any other book on the planet – an inditement regarding the
comprehensible exposure of the nature and attributes of God as presented in the previous and
foregoing papers by one of these Counselors:

“PRESENTED BY A DIVINE COUNSELOR, A MEMBER OF A GROUP OF CELESTIAL
PERSONALITIES ASSIGNED BY THE ANCIENTS OF DAYS ON UVERSA, THE HEADQUARTERS
OF THE SEVENTH SUPERUNIVERSE, TO SUPERVISE THOSE PORTIONS, OF THIS
FORTHCOMING REVELATION WHICH HAVE TO DO WITH AFFAIRS BEYOND THE BORDERS
OF THE LOCAL UNIVERSE OF NEBADON. I AM COMMISSIONED TO SPONSOR THOSE
PAPERS PORTRAYING THE NATURE AND ATTRIBUTES OF GOD BECAUSE I REPRESENT THE
HIGHEST SOURCE OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE FOR SUCH A PURPOSE ON ANY INHABITED
WORLD. I HAVE SERVED AS A DIVINE COUNSELOR IN ALL SEVEN OF THE SUPERUNIVESES
AND HAVE LONG RESIDED AT THE PARADISE CENTER OF ALL THINGS. MANY TIMES HAVE I
ENJOYED THE SUPREME PLEASURE OF A SOJOURN IN THE IMMEDIATE PERSONAL
PRESENCE OF THE UNIVERSAL FATHER. I PORTRAY THE REALITY AND TRUTH OF THE
FATHER’S NATURE AND ATTRIBUTES WITH UNCHALLENGEABLE AUTHORITY; I KNOW
WHEREOF I SPEAK”

Humans also possess the ability to eventually attain Paradise and stand in the personal presence
of God, but only after an evolutionary process that takes us on an almost endless journey
through the universes, all the while training towards perfection as we come to an ever growing
appreciation of the Creator and his infinite Creation. The ongoing creative capacity of the
Creative forces is uniquely eternal, appearing evident from our perspective by viewing the
massive construction of the outer space levels now under construction and infinitely larger than
the universe we now inhabit. We are informed that in eons of time our present day humans will
have a role in the management of the affairs of this amazing creation, already underway and
recently captured by our Hubble Telescope. Over 370 million universes have been discovered in
the process of development. We are further informed that 95% of all the energies emanating from
Nether Paradise (not a part of any universe but the origin of all energies – all matter) exists and is
operating in these presently unorganized outer space levels. In 1934 we were informed in the
Urantia book that soon Urantian astronomers would discover over 350 million universes in outer-
space, something that at the time appeared incredible – too astounding to even consider as a
future possibility, yet one can see this amazing creation unfolding (the actual birth of planets in 3d
-- the movie is called “Hubble”) at your local Imax theater.

We cannot blame God for our misfortunes! With the free will God has endowed us we have the
ability to make personal choices – free will choices of our own liking. God has bestowed the spirit
of intuition and wisdom upon all humanity; our uses of these endowments are uncoerced and
without intimidation. Normal intelligence provides us with the power of discernment enabling us to
discriminate between choices. If our choices are without wisdom the collective aggregation
(society at large) will lead us to failure, something most evident in a democracy where an unwise
referendum can elicit disastrous results. Unwise choices can virtually collapse the entire culture.
Individually, our wrong choices can lead to ruinous lives.

God never interferes personally in the lives of humans, our will is never interfered with or ever
abrogated in a free society – it can be superseded or overruled by a group here on earth, but
never encumbered by higher personalities in the universe including God Himself. Today we face
anti-Christian sentiment threatening to destroy this free will – it is only the will of ignorant and
misinformed individuals that assert their will in a focused attempt to guide society towards the
misdirection of their immature choices. The lack of discretionary discernment within a democracy
can literally destroy a culture and even a civilization – this is not Gods doing – it is of our own folly
that creates the insoluble problems facing the world today.

Much of this evolutional decay emanates from a variety of false sentiments promulgated by
religious organizations -- foreign and not so foreign. We face today the most egregious affront to
Christian beliefs in the form of a militaristic religion that advocates little to no separation between
religion and state; a religion that comes with its own inherent judicial system, a system that
overrides the laws of state, and a religion that is willing to go to war to attain its ends and punish
anyone exercising their free will against the religion. Even switching from the religion is punishable
by death, and I speak of the political system of Islam. Islam in its purest form represents the
greatest threat to Christianity that has ever existed. It places its founder Muhammad above Jesus
and advocates the domination of religious choice to be no choice at all, but rather mere
acceptance of Islam or death. Islam is as much a political movement as it is a religion, otherwise it
would join other religions with a “live and let live” attitude, which is definitely not a part of their plan
of universal conquest. This religious order has entered where Angels fear to tread in that they
steadfastly elect to abrogate the will of the Christian Church by denying its reality in their sector of
the world. Muhammad stated that humanity should embrace Christianity as a bone-fide religion,
but a large part of Islam is intolerant of any religion apart from Islam, maintaining that theirs is the
only true religion. As long as the radical elements of Islam are allowed to run rampant -- are not
brought under control – the religion becomes a danger to the whole world.

RELIGION VERSES SECULARISTS

Christians have to use their faculties of discernment to determine what things are – whether they
are real or unreal, and whether they are good or bad for the good of the people, etc. We are at a
crossroads today – one road leading to the demise of the culture, by giving up our acquired
freedoms to a bureaucracy that is certain they can guide our lives better than we can ourselves –
the other towards a slow and intelligent modification of the culture bringing about long term
sustainable change. The Urantia book sets forth some of the necessary changes to sustain our
system and offers suggestions on how to perfect it. We are doomed to failure as a viable culture if
we fail to heed the instructions. Some of the most salient conditions precipitating our confusional
state in this generation are generated by what the Urantia book mentions as:
1.        Immigration by the inferior and emigration by the superior.
2.        Over taxation of the populous to support a bloated over-sized government.
3.        Inability to create and enforce peace throughout the world (lack of an efficient United
Nations)
4.        Lack of ability to choose and elect wisely able and efficient leaders.
5.        The false sentiment of preserving and encouraging a welfare system based on
redistribution of wealth to those who refuse to earn a living.
6.        The perpetuation of unfit stock – mental defectives and degenerates.
7.        Allowing the lower uneducated strata to rule the rest. (An uneducated populous should in
no way carry the same weight as the educated in political referendums). (Universal suffrage
should be based on a merit system)
8.        Frivolous spending such as Nero did in Rome – debt spending and pork barrel spending.

We are informed that: Once we have accepted the teachings of Jesus, our destiny into eternity is
assured; it is the rest of this life that we have to worry about -- if for no other reason, for the sake
of our progeny. The Urantia book warns us what we must do to sustain the culture so as it doesn’t
slowly slip away from us.

While God does not personally intervene in human affairs apart from the influence of the Thought
Adjusters, his forces are all over the planet and have previously made earthly appearances, yet
no human knows who, how or when these forces may again appear. Miraculous appearances
have punctuated the annals of history from time to time, so it is not without precedent that spiritual
entities could appear at any given moment. The revelation informs us that a Most High from
Edentia has intervened 33 times under emergency conditions to take charge of the planet; so
hopefully it might appear to you, as it does to our staff that we are about due for another
takeover. The problem is that it may require a socio/economic collapse before any celestial
guidance is forthcoming.

THE MAGNITUDE OF SOCIAL COLLAPSE

Ignorant forces are methodically breaking the back of our economy and unwittingly destroying the
culture; spiritual values have been displaced by material acquisition (greed), placing us at a
vulnerable point in history that in a very short time if conditions are not ameliorated we will have
left ourselves no positive alternatives. No viable options in which to restore a failed society.
Without realizing it we have set up our cardboard stage to survive only the theater, but the real
world demands more than a flimsy set incapably designed to weather a real storm. When a movie
turns out badly, we walk out of the theater and on our merry way, lamenting the plight of the
characters; when the society collapses we have no escape but to face the consequences as
severe as the planet might offer; there is no skipping along on our merry way.
If just a significant portion of the population were to get seriously involved with the Urantia
revelation we would be “home free”, however, it is unfortunate that most people fail to realize that
there exists a breaking point from which a culture may not rebound once it has collapsed. The
causational blame will be an across the board abnegation within all strata of society, with
everyone denying responsibility – even as society approaches the eleventh hour. Unions will be
blaming the extravagance of management and management will be blaming the intransigence of
unions; liberals will find reason to blame conservatives and vice-versa. Many of our
contemporaries would love to take back the carefree culture of the l950’s in place of the uncertain
times of the present – unfortunately those calendar years are gone forever. Society has
advanced far too rapidly in a techno/material existence, far outpacing a distant concomitant
growth required within the spiritual domain -- something we are told is necessary to maintain a
balanced equilibrium in the world order – a necessity for civilizations survival.

We have elected through our own free will a radical run-away, run amuck Congress who has
determined it is better to pass legislation that they haven’t read so that we can all read it together
to see how great the new laws are; at least that’s what Nancy Pelosi has stated. It is not to be
forgotten that the rank and file have elected the country’s leaders, therefore the average citizen is
far from understanding what has to be done to bring the world into alignment with what the Urantia
book offers as the only solutions to reversing the foolish covenants we have elected to follow.

To bring to light the perversities of our cultural situation Urantia book readers ought to read the
“Cultural of Corruption”, by Michelle Malkin, and the “Obama Diaries”, by Laura Ingraham. The
corrupt events revealed in these two books lend little credence to our Congressional leaders,
leaving us to wonder how we can survive the decade. Congressional overseers exercising selfish
and unwise decisions have deliberately allowed some of the world’s largest institutions to go
broke, only to be bailed out by the American tax payer, resulting in hardships for everyone. I
mention these cultural influences because according to the Urantia book there is a likelihood they
can destroy our society, leaving only one way to be overcome -- by a complete change in attitude
– a selfless change in the direction toward a greater spiritual understanding of the more
meaningful values of life -- something we don’t seem to be prone to doing at present, thus
providing us with the unfavorable option to experience the most disastrous consequences
imaginable. The revelation makes it abundantly clear that the only path open to the longevity of a
successful culture is to rectify our mistakes through a clear field of sight provided through the lens
of spiritual vision. The “Book” is quite clear about a separation of Church and State, but insists
that secularism has to be tempered through deeper understandings derived through the selfless
values of spiritual living.

While admittedly there is a modicum of fiction attached to Ingraham’s book there is no fiction in
the “Cultural of Corruption”, leaving the reader to determine what part of the “Obama Diaries” are
real (most of the book) and what little is fiction. Both books clearly elucidate the sordid details of
the chicanery taking place in Congress today – the immaturity of seasoned senators with their
simplistic desire to promote the “good ole boy” network at the expense of the entire citizenry,
concurrent with an obvious lack of virtue and integrity has brought the country to third world
status. This sophistry has reached a game playing status among the “so called” elites, yet is
something we can ill-afford as it puts the whole of society at risk.

I might add, in regards to our current meltdown that a betrayal of the public trust is a capital
offence on a planet relatively close to us in the universe. On the other hand we appear to look the
other way or at best give a “slap on the wrist” to crooked congressmen who deliberately betray
the voters trust, for their own personal gain.

As sort of an epilogue Ingraham ends her diaries with some final statements: “This book was
designed to open your eyes to the true agenda and motives of Team Obama. For those of you
who haven’t gotten the joke yet, these dairies were my way of pulling back the curtain on Barack
Obama’s Theater of the Politically Absurd. My musings—raw and uncensored—are informed by
actual events and, on many occasions, by the main characters’ own words.”

The trust of the American people has not only been violated by its elected governmental officials
but by its chosen leaders in the business community as well, leading to what is presently
perceived as an irresolvable quandary, at least, in so far as we have ruled the forces of God out
of any equation leading to intelligent  answers.

THE NEED FOR RELIGION

“Religion, the conviction-faith of the personality, can always triumph over the superficially
contradictory logic of despair born in the unbelieving material mind. There really is a true and
genuine inner voice, that “true light which lights every man who comes into the world.” And this
spirit leading is distinct from the ethical prompting of human conscience. The feeling of religious
assurance is more than an emotional feeling. The assurance of religion transcends the reason of
the mind, even the logic of philosophy. Religion is faith, trust, and assurance.”
